中國(guó)工程院院士，中國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)動(dòng)物科技學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)，教授，博士導(dǎo)師，國(guó)家飼料工程技術(shù)研究中心主任。1989年獲美國(guó)堪薩斯州立大學(xué)動(dòng)物營(yíng)養(yǎng)學(xué)博士，致力于動(dòng)物營(yíng)養(yǎng)與飼料加工學(xué)的研究、教學(xué)、技術(shù)轉(zhuǎn)移、工程建設(shè)與人才培養(yǎng)工作。李院士是國(guó)內(nèi)較早提倡將營(yíng)養(yǎng)學(xué)和飼料加工工藝學(xué)有機(jī)結(jié)合的倡導(dǎo)人與開拓者，設(shè)計(jì)建造了我國(guó)高校和科技院所第一個(gè)集科研、生產(chǎn)、示范功能于一體的飼料中試基地。作為籌委會(huì)主任，創(chuàng)建國(guó)家飼料工程技術(shù)研究中心，擔(dān)負(fù)著我國(guó)飼料行業(yè)技術(shù)轉(zhuǎn)化和工程支持的重要任務(wù)。李院士極為重視人才培養(yǎng)和國(guó)際交流工作，培養(yǎng)博士后、博士50余名，碩士30余名，在12個(gè)國(guó)際會(huì)議和15個(gè)國(guó)外機(jī)構(gòu)作學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告40余次。

Prof. Li Defa is an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Dean of College of Animal Science and Technology, China Agricultural University, and Director of National Feed Engineering Technology Research Center. In 1989, he got a doctor degree in animal nutrition from America Kansas State University. He was devoted to the research, teaching, technology transfer, engineering construction and talent training of animal nutrition and feed processing.
   Academician Li was the pioneer who advocated the organic integration of nutrition and feed processing technology in China, and designed and built the first feed pilot plant integrating scientific research, production and demonstration functions in China's universities and science and technology institutes. As the director of the preparatory committee, he created the National Feed Engineering Technology Research Center, which is responsible for the important task of technology transformation and engineering support in China's feed industry. Academician Li attaches great importance to the cultivation of talents and international exchange work, training more than 50 post-docs and PhDs, more than 30 masters, and giving more than 40 academic presentations in 12 international conferences and 15 foreign institutions.
